Christmas 2005 and Happy New Year
Greetings and Happy New Year to everyone.
As every year, we spent our Christmas vacation in Texas, visiting with friends and family and enjoying the 70+' weather down there. Its been a real challenge to come back to the cold weather of Ohio. But we had a great time and we are already looking forward to Dotty and Garland coming up in the Spring and the arrival of the information on our new daughter. We should receive her picture and write-up sometime in May. 6-8 weeks after that, we fly to China.
Below is a picture of all of us and Kristin's family at the table on New Years day evening. Following are a few more shots of various Christmas activities.

Kristin getting ready to play her flute at the Christmas service in Bartlett.

Another shot of her and her flute.

All the gang. Merrill even played in this service, rining a bell when directed to do so by Garland.

Merrill and Karen had a good time in Garland's new hot tub.

All three of us along with Garland and Dotty went to Austin one day. Yes, I am wearing shorts...becuase it was 78 degrees! Had a great picnic in the lawn of teh statehouse and enjoyed the day.

The Cousins: The Next Generation in Dallas for the family Christmas.
This week, we told Merrill about what is happening. She is very excited and is looking forward to her new sister and going to China to "find her" as she puts it. She is talking about this trip and hew new sister with great frequency and is already coming up with ideas of things she can do with her new sister. She now includes her new little sister in her evening prayers before she goes to bed. A few questions and interesting observations surface from her each day about all this, and we enjoy talking to her about it. Merrill got a Kindergarten in China video this Christmas, where it teaches small children some basic Chinese (numbers, colors, greetings, etc.) Kristin and I have already viewed the video with Merrill several times and we have about two or three words down...Merrill can now count in Chinese at about the second viewing and pronounces all the words correctly. I guess she will be our interpreter!
I will try and post more about how everything is going here and especially when we get our news and paperwork from China, we will post it here and make sur eyou all get the link to see the pictures.
Take care and stay in touch.
